Design is an integral part of our life. We design boutique furnished rentals in the heart of Norfolk, VA, combining the glorious historical character of these homes with fresh boho-inspired design and a mixture of both modern and antique furniture and decor. It is our greatest joy to make home for others, what a true privilege!

I (Annaliese) have always loved interior design, and have been curating my spaces since 18. I will never forget painting my first white room - man, it was liberating and freeing in a way I had never experienced. There is so much beauty in creating space for color, texture, culture, and personality to shine in a home.

My sweet husband has traveled all across the world, exploring different cultures and living in various countries [so hot, am I right?]. He has seen so much rich beauty and history throughout the world, and I think it has had a huge influence in the way he approaches design and creativity. He has always partnered with me in creating beautiful spaces, and it is SUCH a joy to pursue together!

When my eye for aesthetic and passion for curating spaces collided with Ian's culture, ability to research, and boldness to buy the scary houses [eek], we both realized that we stumbled into something both of us loved and could do together.

We live in a very historical area, where there are gorgeous homes built in the early 1900's. Many of these houses hold the most stunning architecture, character, quirks, and beauty, but many are also in desperate need of a fresh breath of creativity and perspective.

We bought our first home in 2018, a gorgeous little craftsman in the heart of a historic district, with a massive cedar tree in the front yard (hence where our business name stemmed from). This house taught us SO much as we dreamed, created, renovated, and styled it bit by bit. We eventually turned it into an Airbnb for several months, which was a blast, and then shifted into a fully-furnished full-time rental.

We love taking old homes and breathing new life into them. Little by little, we are growing this part of our life and business, as we continue to buy, renovate, and furnish homes in Coastal VA. We will share our spaces, renovations, projects, tips and ideas here! Homes hold such beauty and sacredness, and we are in the business of curating beautiful spaces that make people feel at home instantaneously.
